In addition to that amount, you&#8217;re allowed to possess 30g. In other words, when you have a medical prescription, you&#8217;re allowed to possess the 30g everyone else can possess, but you add to that amount what you&#8217;re allowed to possess for medical purposes. For example: You have a medical document prescribing you 20g a day. To know how much you can possess, you do 20 x 30 and the amount would add up to 600 g. Since this amount is higher than 150 g the amount you&#8217;re allowed to possess is reduced to the maximum allowed, which is 150g. However, you add to the 150g the 30g everyone can possess, which means you&#8217;re allowed to possess 180g in total in public.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">POSSESSION ON PRIVATE PROPERTY<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>On the federal level there is no limit prescribed. Does that imply you can store as much as you want? Technically yes, but evidently if you have tons of cannabis at home, a scale, cash laying around, there is always the possibility of being accused of possession for the purpose of distribution. Although, the cop would need a warrant unless there are exceptional circumstances justifying a search without a warrant.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>On the provincial level it varies where you live. In Quebec the limit is 150g per household regardless of the number of people living there. However, since a province cannot regulate criminal activity, you do not risk a criminal record. Rather, you will receive a fine.
